Gloria Dei’s sanctuary will reopen for in-person worship beginning Sunday, June 6. After more than a year of coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are grateful for the ways in which God has enabled our ministry to continue through worship and discipleship, fellowship and witness, generosity and service. As we look forward to gathering together again, we want to do so safely and adaptively.
We are a community of faith, and love of neighbor is a basic tenet of our faith. We are called to look out for the health and well-being of our members, friends, neighbors, and community. Therefore, Gloria Dei will require masks for in-person worship at least until July 1. We will reconsider at that time and may decide to extend that requirement. In addition, we will encourage self-distancing and frequent hand washing/sanitizing. We urge people to get vaccinated.
We will continue to broadcast worship (live stream and radio). We will continue to make use of Zoom for meetings and study opportunities. Those who are experiencing symptoms, feel unwell, may be at greater health risk, or who have any level of concern or anxiety about gathering in person are asked to stay home and continue to worship and meet remotely.
Gloria Dei is thankful for the ministry we share and for our Safe Gathering Team for their gifts of discernment and communication in changing times. A congregational mailing that includes more details is being sent this week. As we all prepare for this important transition in the coming weeks, thank you for your cooperation, patience, and prayers that our gatherings will be both renewing and safe for all involved.
God’s grace and peace be with you!
