CHOIR
The Gloria Dei Choir is a group of singers of widely diversified abilities who strive together to enhance worship by leading congregational song and offering choral music that reiterates a theme, enhances a hymn, assists prayer, and/or intensifies praise. We do this for regular worship on Sundays from September through mid-June, with regular rehearsals before church each Sunday (8:30 p.m.) and one Wednesday evening per month.
The choir is not auditioned, but we have had the benefit of very dedicated members whose dependability is the strength of the ensemble. We encourage interested persons to join us, even if you consider it a trial period. There is plenty of room for you in the balcony, or down front! Contact Music Director Stan Wold to find out how you might join our joyful noise!
ORGANISTS
Gloria Dei is blessed by the musical talents of our organists who faithfully share in accompanying the choir and congregational worship. Since 1971, when it was originally installed, the organ has been and remains a primary instrument supporting congregational worship at Gloria Dei.
ONE BREAD
Thanks to One Bread, our worship band, for accompanying worship once a month. Drawing from the Dakota Road liturgy in the ELW hymnal and other sources, One Bread involves the musical talents of several adults and youth. Our members have composed arrangements for the annual Blues Service in August, a jazz service, and the children’s Christmas Program. Other Sundays, the liturgy is led on organ and piano. We thank God for the gifts of all musicians at Gloria Dei!
